happy birthday

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

First Amendment in the Bill of Rights created September 25, 1789 and ratified December 15, 1791.

Happy 220th birthday, First Amendment! We know the last decade or so has been a tough one, but hang in there… it gets better. We’re all working on it.
